Bonus Flowchart and Resource Updates

September 5, 2019
Resource Additions, Announcements, Updated Resources

We are excited to release a bonus flowchart this month. Not to mention, we have also made a few small changes to two other resources.

Bonus Flowchart:

If I Retire Early, Should I Buy Health Insurance Through The Health Insurance Marketplace?: The health insurance decision for early retirees can be very complicated.  It can be one of the more stressful decisions an early-retiree must make. This particular flowchart was developed in collaboration with Jeff Levine and based on the recent Nerd’s Eye View article he wrote covering this topic.

Updated Resources:

What Issues Should I Consider After Getting Married?:   We are changing the headline/title of this checklist to read “What Issues Should I Consider WHEN Getting Married?”  because it more accurately describes the issues covered.  In reality, this checklist includes many items that should be addressed BEFORE getting married (not just afterward).

Can I Do a Qualified Charitable Distribution From My IRA?:   Two minor changes have been made to this flowchart.  First, we updated where on the tax return the QCD should be reported (line 4, instead of 15). Second, we clarified that Designated Funds and Scholarships are eligible for Qualified Charitable Contributions.

What do you think of this bonus flowchart and these recent updates?  Send me an email – I’d love to hear your thoughts.
