Your advisory practice can have a predictable rhythm tied to your clients’ needs at certain times of the year. For example, in the first part of the year, you can count on having a lot of tax discussions. Medicare discussions usually will coincide with the open enrollment periods. The fourth quarter is the time your clients want to address planning issues before the year ends.

It may feel overwhelming to parse out the entire year, so we’ve done it for you. The chart below will help you visualize the year and identify the checklists and flowcharts you can use to guide specific conversations. To get started, click on the chart and download the linked version to your desktop. You’ll easily navigate to everything you need. You can also use this guide as inspiration. If you’re aware of seasonal trends among your clients, by all means, make changes to this guide or create one of your own.

Here’s a hack: You don’t have to tackle every topic to make progress. Pick one or two to get started, see how it goes, and make adjustments.
